Collection includes a volume of minutes of the Enforcement League of Waterville, 1894-1897; included in the volume are minutes from April 1897-1898 of the Christian Civic League of Waterville. Records of the Christian Civic League of Maine include by-laws, minutes of meetings, newspaper clippings and publications mostly concerning prohibition, and information about the Prohibition Party. Collection also contains correspondence, 1949, of Paul K. Stewart, superintendent of the League, relating to gambling and prohibition and containing letters and a questionnaire to members of the Maine Liquor Research Commission. Included also is a copy of a contract between the Anti-Saloon League of America and the Christian Civic League of Maine dated March 28, 1919; a typescript of "A brief history of prohibition in Maine from 1820 to 1912" by Wilbur F. Berry, superintendent of the League; and information about an attempt by Benjamin Bubar while a member of the Maine legislature to enact a prohibition law in Maine in 1949.

The Christian Civic League of Maine was established in 1897 in Waterville, Maine.
